(for the Education Minister)

Once upon a time

Emerged a golden sun

Beaming angelic smiles.

And we sought a benign space

To bask in its soothing balm.

Now,

This sun is swallowed, chooromm....

By black clouds fleeing

From the weight of elephants,

Struck bind by greed,

Fighting over our land.

Now, we perform this

Ritual in the dark,

Growing yellow leaves

For the market.
